Dentures are a great restoration option for missing teeth because they can fit comfortably over your gums. They are effective in helping you eat properly and speak clearly and will help boost your confidence by improving your appearance. It is not recommended to allow gaps between your teeth if you have lost some of your teeth already, your other teeth may shift and take some of the empty space. This can possibly result in crooked teeth which will eventually affect your teeth functions such as biting and chewing and can damage your other teeth.
Dentures are of the following types:
- Complete dentures – conventional complete dentures when all teeth in the mouth are lost or have been removed and the gum tissue has healed. On the other hand, immediate complete dentures are made ahead of time so they can be ready for placement as soon as the teeth are removed. These can serve as temporary replacements until such time that the conventional dentures are ready.
- Partial dentures – removable partial dentures consist of replacement teeth attached to a gum colored base to keep the denture in place. Partial dentures are recommended when there are some natural teeth remaining in the upper or lower jaw. A partial denture not only fills in the spaces created by missing teeth, it also prevents the other teeth from shifting or moving from their positions.

Dentures are created as per your custom fit using the process outlined below:
- Several measurements and impressions of the jaw are taken to craft your custom denture
- A wax or plastic pattern model of the denture is made before the final cast to ensure a good color, shape and fit.
- The final denture is casted
- Adjustments will be made as necessary
